I have been a therapist for many years. I feel that being a part of someone’s life journey as they ask questions and work to make sense of the puzzle of their life is a sacred experience. I never make the mistake of thinking I have all the answers, especially as it pertains to another’s life. But I know from my own life’s journey how important it can be to have someone that you trust “walk” with you when life is difficult and confusing.
In terms of my education, I completed my Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work at Colorado State University and my Master’s Degree in Social Work at the University of Kansas. I continued to provide individual therapy for children, adults, and family as well as teach for several years. I was offered a social work fellowship at Yale University before returning to Colorado, the state that is the home of my heart. After returning to Colorado, I became a foster parent and adopted my two daughters, now ages 18 and 22.
Throughout my career, I have worked in a variety of settings in the field of mental health; mostly providing services to youth and families through community mental health centers and hospitals. I have also served as a Team Lead Supervisor.
My clinical expertise includes trauma-focused therapy, EMDR, Cognitive Behavior Therapy, group work, and clinical supervision of unlicensed and licensed clinicians. If you decide to work with me, I will do my best to help you achieve goals that will enrich your life. I look forward to meeting and working with you.I accept HSA/HRA/FSA, out-of-network and in-network insurance coverage with Optum/United/UMR, Aetna, Anthem, Cigna and Kaiser HMO and PPO.
